Areas of support

EPU comprises a great number of international partners of all scientific fields and supports projects in the areas of research, research-based teaching and art as well as technology cooperations. It supports bilateral and multilateral initiatives.

Supported disciplines include engineering and natural sciences, medicine, agricultural and environmental sciences, economics (including tourism studies), humanities and social sciences, as well as art and music – reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of the network.

Project proposals can be submitted exclusively by researchers affiliated with Austrian EPU member institutions. Each project must involve at least one international EPU partner institution, and projects are designed for a duration of one year.

Funding is intended exclusively to cover travel and accommodation expenses. Funding amounts are determined on a project-by-project basis. Please refer to the new EPU funding guidelines for further details.

EPU Project Funding is financed by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Women, Science and Research (BMFWF).
